Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my site.
I started my writing career nearly fifteen years ago as a freelance researcher at In Style, where I got to do fun things like call Dolce & Gabbana to confirm that their new shoes were indeed crafted from silk and where I fact-checked articles about various celebrities and their impending nuptials. Back then, I had grand visions of writing about fashion and beauty for the next few decades. However, as I grew a little older, traveled more, started a family and settled into a new phase in my life, the inspiration for the stories I wanted to tell began to change.
Since then, my writing has been inspired by an assortment of lifestyle topics, specifically those centered around motherhood, friendship, food, family and the modern home.
To date, my work has appeared in New Jersey Monthly, the New York Times and Real Simple, among others. In addition, I've taught writing at the secondary, undergraduate and graduate level for nearly ten years. My memoir, A Vision of Neon, was published in 2012 (Serving House). I hold an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing and am the recipient of an Artist's Grant from the Vermont Studio Center. I am currently at work on my first novel.
I am based in Northern New Jersey and NYC and am available for freelance projects.
